Electronic pressure measurement

Electronic pressure measurement from ADZ NAGANO

Whether it is the pressure measurement of gas, air or liquids you need: With our innovative pressure measurement technology, you can cover a broad scope of application areas and benefit from the high complexity of the customised solutions. In the field of "electronic pressure measurement technology", we offer you a wide range of high-quality products that meet your individual requirements.

Pressure sensors

Precise and reliable pressure sensors are a relevant cornerstone of electronic pressure measurement. The conversion of the pressure to be measured into a digital or analogue output signal is the main function of pressure transmitters, which are often also referred to as sensors or pressure transducers. With our assortment you will receive state-of-the-art sensor technology - the selection ranges from electronic analogue devices to CANopen pressure transmitters and miniature sensors that can be used in applications with very small process connections and limited installation space.

Pressure switches

Pressure switches are important components in industrial and process pressure monitoring. After a certain pressure value, previously defined by the customer, is reached, a built-in switch contact and circuit is opened or closed as required.

If the pressure falls below the value, the contact is switched accordingly. Pressure switches are often used to switch connected systems, such as a pump, on and off when a process pressure value is reached. We offer a comprehensive selection of high-quality products in this area, from switches for differential pressure measurement to industrial pressure switches.

How does pressure measurement work?

Pressure measurement is basically based on comparing the pressure to be measured with a reference pressure. A distinction is made between relevant parameters such as differential pressure, relative pressure, and absolute pressure. There are various methods of pressure measurement, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and, above all, electronic pressure measurement technology, in which we specialize due to its many advantages.

Electronic pressure measurement uses different measuring principles, all of which aim to convert pressure into an electrical signal. These measuring methods typically use a Wheatstone bridge, a device for precisely measuring electrical resistance that consists of four interconnected resistors.

There are three common measuring principles in electronic pressure measurement technology:

  • Thin-film sensors: These sensors are characterized by high precision and small size, making them particularly suitable for compact applications.
  • Thick-film sensors: They offer a robust solution and are suitable for applications in more demanding environments where high loads and temperatures can occur.
  • Piezoresistive pressure sensors: In this principle, pressure is applied to a membrane on which resistors are mounted. The change in resistance due to the deformation of the membrane is converted into an electrical signal and processed further.

These technologies enable extremely precise and reliable pressure measurement in various areas. The electronic sensors provide the output signals, which are then processed and evaluated by a measuring device or control system.

To ensure maximum measurement accuracy in all applications, ADZ NAGANO sensors and pressure measuring devices are based on the piezoresistive measuring principle.

What advantages does electronic pressure measurement offer?

Compared to other measurement technologies, such as mechanical pressure measurement, electronic pressure measurement offers a number of advantages. The biggest advantage is that measurements can be carried out more precisely and accurately. In addition, electronic pressure sensors can also be used in harsh environments where mechanical sensors would not work.

Furthermore, electronic pressure measurement technology enables automatic recording and storage of measurement data. This in turn leads to simple process monitoring and rapid fault detection. If electronic sensors are used, several measurements can be carried out simultaneously in different measuring ranges – a major advantage in many areas of application.
