What is a high-pressure transmitter?

A high-pressure transmitter, or high-pressure sensor, is defined at ADZ NAGANO as a sensor that  measures pressures above 1000 bar up to 5000 bar. These sensors convert the measured pressure into an electrical signal that is used to monitor and control processes. High-pressure transmitters are made of robust materials such as stainless steel to withstand extreme conditions and often include temperature compensation mechanisms to provide accurate measurements at different ambient temperatures. 

How does a high-pressure sensor work?

A high-pressure sensor works by absorbing the pressure of a medium through a membrane that deforms when pressure is applied. This deformation is then converted into an electrical signal by piezoresistive sensors. In order to make the signal usable as a standardized output signal (e.g. 4-20 mA or 0-10 V) for control systems or data acquisition devices, it is amplified and processed. Special pressure ports and chokes help reduce pressure peaks and ensure accurate measurements even under extreme conditions.
