A high-pressure transmitter, or high-pressure sensor, is defined at ADZ NAGANO as a sensor that measures pressures above 1000 bar up to 5000 bar. These sensors convert the measured pressure into an electrical signal that is used to monitor and control processes. High-pressure transmitters are made of robust materials such as stainless steel to withstand extreme conditions and often include temperature compensation mechanisms to provide accurate measurements at different ambient temperatures.
A high-pressure sensor works by absorbing the pressure of a medium through a membrane that deforms when pressure is applied. This deformation is then converted into an electrical signal by piezoresistive sensors. In order to make the signal usable as a standardized output signal (e.g. 4-20 mA or 0-10 V) for control systems or data acquisition devices, it is amplified and processed.
